Don't Wait For Perfection

Have you ever noticed the excuses that pop up in your mind to put something off until, well, tomorrow?  These excuses are the expression of the doubt created in our minds through the experiences of life.  Some of the experiences are actually our own.  Most however are put there through the power of suggestion from everyone and everything around us.  One of the great examples of the excuse of doubt comes while in pursuit of perfection.  I recall hearing this voice myself a few years ago while working on some final touches of a new coaching program for senior advisors.  The program had been over a year in development and everything was complete with the exception of one or two final tweaks from my graphic artist.  While looking over the material I happened to glance over at a list on my desk of contacts to send it out to and meetings to be arranged.  The thought that came up was, "It is not quite finished yet.  Don't make any calls until everything is perfect".  What the voice was saying was "put off getting started".  I smiled and picked up the contact list and started dialling.  Within an hour I had five meetings booked and genuine interest from another half dozen.  How powerful the mind I thought.  The voice that provides all the reasons and all the excuses and all the obstacles to starting now.  Waiting for everything to be exactly right steals away precious time for us all.  Pay heed and be wary of the voice that keeps you from doing what you know is necessary to move the game forward.  Here's a good lesson to learn. Don't wait for perfection.  Have an excellent day.   Be well,   Randy Taylor   Buy The Books!
