The Time Of Your Life

The Time Of Your LifeRegardless of where you are at this exact moment in time, the possibility exists just around the corner of having the time of your life.  We all face challenge. We all face adversity.  Its the philosophy of life that we hold on to that determines how we will fare when we come out the other side.  If a challenge or hard knock of life leaves you broken and bitter and shut off, the "times" of your life may remain walled off and unreachable.  If however you hold firm to your beliefs and dreams the door will always stay opened just a crack waiting for your next big moment to kick it open.  A line from a song brought back a memory that I shared with my wife tonight in the car on our way home. It was by David Cook who was the American Idol winner a few years ago.  The song is called "The time of my life". This story is very personal and the only reason I'm sharing it with you is in the hope that it might help you get through a difficult time.  When my ex-wife left and took my kids and moved them away 20 years ago I was broken and empty and closed off.  I swore I would never allow someone into my life and risk that kind of pain again.  Here are the lyrics from the song.   "I've been waiting for my dreams to turn into something I could believe in, and looking for that magic rainbow on the horizon, I couldn't see it until I let go, gave in to love and watched all the bitterness burn, now I'm coming alive, body and soul, feeling my world start to turn".   The line from the song that reminded me of what I went through and when the turning point came was "gave into love and watched all the bitterness burn".  Until I was able to do that, to get to the point where I could watch all the bitterness burn, I had no hope of having a full life again.  The two blond haired kids passed out in the back seat on the way home are testament to what is possible when you don't slam doors shut in your life.  I hope you don't do that.  I hope that you don't close doors because you were bruised and beaten.  I hope that you hold onto everything that matters.  That hope and faith and belief that tomorrow may just bring you the time of your life.  Have an excellent day.   Be well,   Randy Taylor   Buy The Books!
